The cost of buying and owning a home is probably the biggest investment made by most people in their lifetime. Property owners therefore often look for the lowest price when looking to build or remodel a home. Since most unlicensed contractors are not bonded or insured, they can often afford to under bid the licensed professional. Saving a few dollars with a unlicensed contractor my be appealing at first blush, but could cost the homeowner more in the end. For this reason, the Village of Clarendon Hills strongly recommends and requires its home and business owners to hire licensed contractors for work being conducted in the Village.
The Village of Clarendon Hills Business and Contractor License Listings (see below) contain contact information for local businesses and contractors currently licensed or registered within Village. A copy of the Village's 2013 Home Occupation, Business and Contractor License applications can be found by clicking here. Businesses exempt from having to obtain a local business license can use the business license application to register their business at no cost.
