Community Profile:
Background and Summary

The Village of Clarendon Hills is a well established, affluent, west suburban Chicago community located in eastern DuPage County, just west of I-294 and Route 83. Originally platted in the 1870s and later incorporated in 1924, the Village is home to approximately 8,500 people and more than 130 businesses.

The Village offers a variety of housing options ranging from historic and new construction single-family homes to ondominiums, townhomes and rental apartments. Key features of the community include a vibrant downtown, a Metra commuter rail station, and retail presence on two arterial roads- Ogden Avenue and 55th Street.

Clarendon Hills continues to renew itself through supporting investment and reinvestment in its neighborhoods and commercial districts. A newly developed Downtown Master Plan, new mixed-use development projects in the downtown, an Ogden Avenue TIF District, and public investment in infrastructure and municipal services exemplify the Village’s commitment to keep Clarendon Hills thriving. The Village remains proactive in pursuing development projects and opportunities that will promote it as a destination for new residents, businesses, shoppers, and visitors while keeping true to its small town character and appeal.
