New Metra Station and Commuter Parking
 
  
The plan calls for the redevelopment of the current Metra commuter parking lot into a 3-story mixed-use building that includes 6,000 square feet of first floor retail, 22 condominium units, and 68 first-floor parking spaces. In addition, a new train station would be developed as a focal identity feature. A turnaround drop off site would be located on the south side of the station for convenient access from Eastern Avenue and Ann Street. Commuter parking would be reconfigured so that in addition to the existing commuter parking along Burlington Avenue, Metra parking would be available within a parking structure located beneath new residential condominiums and at surface parking in front of the station. This would increase the number of commuter parking spaces by 56 to address the current demand for  commuter parking.
