The Village of Clarendon Hills (8,427) is seeking applications for the part-time position of GIS/Planning Intern. Under direction of the Director of Community Development, this position assists in the day-to-day operations of the Community Development Department while assisting with ongoing special projects.
· Providing support to the Community Development Department’s day-to-day operations (includes Building Department and Planning)
· Assisting staff in collecting and preparing data for various planning projects
· Managing and improving the Village’s GIS system
· Conducting field work, collecting parcel data and searching land records
· Preparing maps and planning reports
· Producing sketches and renderings
· Assisting planning staff at community meetings
· Presenting report findings at community meetings
· Researching funding sources and writing grant proposals
Requirements: Full enrollment in an accredited Masters of Planning Program, Masters of Geography or related field, or a recent graduation from an accredited Masters of Planning Program is required.

Current Salary: $15/hour for 20 - 30 hours per week. It is expected that the hired applicant will remain employed with the Village for 1-2 years.
