Reassurance Program for the Elderly

The Clarendon Hills Police Department's Reassurance Program will provide a daily health and well being check for residents enrolled in the program. Participants are required to call the Clarendon Hills Police Department by 10:00 a.m. everyday. The Department will call participants who fail to call by 10:00 a.m. In the event that the Department is unable to make contact, a police officer will knock on the door, and if there is no response, will enter the home. A key must be provided by the participant. The police will provide assistance to the participant as needed due to medical emergencies or accidents. Persons eligible to participate in the program must be Clarendon Hills residents, fill out an application form, and provide the Police Department with a house key. There is no charge for this service. All information provided is confidential. In order for the program to run in an effective manner, it is important for participants to be consistent in making their daily phone calls. Participants not home for extended periods due to vacations, hospitals stays, etc. should notify the police department. This program is intended to provide residents living alone with a sense of security and confidence that assistance is coming should they become incapacitated. If you have questions about this program, call the Clarendon Hills Police Department at (630) 286-5460.
