In addition to the Village Board and its standing Committees, the Board also appoints several standing and ad hoc committees to provide input on current and ongoing issues.
Village Board
The Village Board makes certain decisions that maintain and enhance the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Clarendon Hills. These decisions include, but are not limited to, matters of Village finance including the approval of the annual Village Budget, approval of contracts; responsiveness to citizens concerns; establishment of, and variations to, building, zoning and subdivision and traffic codes; and establishment of license fees and other charges.

Zoning Board of Appeals/Plan Commission
The ZBA/PC is responsible for reviewing and advising the Village Board on requests for approval of zoning variations, special use permits, subdivisions, planned unit developments, stormwater variations, zoning code text amendments or zoning map amendments.
Board of Police Commissioners
The Board of Police Commissioners is responsible for hiring and discipline of sworn police personnel for the Village of Clarendon Hills.
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee is appointed for the purpose of planning and running the annual summer concert series and for providing input on community events.
Ad Hoc Committees
Downtown Plan Update Committee
The Village appointed a committee to review and update the Village's Downtown Master Plan in 2013.

Electric Aggregation Advisory Committee
The Electric Aggregation Advisory Committee was appointed in August 2012 for the purpose of studying and advising the Village Board on electric aggregation issues.
