Flagg Creek Construction Updates Flagg Creek Water Reclamation District (FCWRD) is currently in the process of constructing a major sanitary relief sewer that runs through sections of Hinsdale, Westmont and Clarendon Hills. The construction project includes more than $14 million in improvements that will help relieve sanitary sewer surcharging during heavy rainfalls. This multi-phase project will result in a number of road closures over the coming months. This webpage will be updated with the latest road closures and detours. Phase I The first phase of the project to take place in Clarendon Hills will close Eastern Avenue between South Prospect and Harris Avenue beginning Tuesday, July 27. The closure is anticipated to last three to four weeks. Residents on Eastern will have access to their driveways, and businesses in the affected area will be open and accessible.
Phase II The second phase of the project will begin September 13 and is expected to last four to six weeks. It will affect Park Avenue between South Prospect and Walker. Park Avenue will be closed to traffic between Walker Avenue and Walker alley. West-bound Park Avenue between Walker alley and South Prospect will be closed. East-bound Park from Walker Avenue will be open. Some parking will be blocked on Walker and Railroad Avenues. Arrows on map indicate marked detour.
Construction hours for the project are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday with some Saturday work possible. If you have questions, please contact:
