PARK AVENUE TRAFFIC INTERRUPTION Starting the week of March 31st through May 1st, Park Avenue will experience temporary road closures and one-way traffic. Parking will also be limited in this area. Residents should avoid this area when possible. The closure will be between Eastern Avenue and Prospect Avenue. Detours will be set up as needed. Residents of 88 Park Avenue will still have access to their parking garage. This project is scheduled for completion on May 1st. Please plan your commute accordingly.
This phase of the Parklet Projects involves the construction of outdoor dining spaces on Park Avenue to eliminate the need for concrete barriers each summer. This will enhance the aesthetics of our downtown and keep the dining tables directly adjacent to the restaurants, minimizing pedestrian traffic through the designated dining areas. It will also include the construction of new parking stalls east of the outdoor dining areas. We intend to begin the second phase of the Parklet Project on Railroad Avenue near Thassos in the fall of 2025. This project was presented to the Village Board in December and was approved at the January Board meeting. These improvements, along with the addition of stop signs coming soon to the intersection of Park Avenue and Eastern Avenue, will enhance dining and pedestrian safety in this area of downtown.
