The Chicago Avenue Construction Project is in full swing and is expected to last until the middle of August. Your patience and use of caution while driving through this area is appreciated.
Starting on Monday, July 7th Chicago Avenue between Prospect Avenue and Norfolk Avenue/Coe Road will be reduced to one lane eastbound (towards Hinsdale) for approximately one week weather permitting. Detour map
Westbound Chicago Avenue traffic will be detoured to Norfolk Avenue.
Middaugh Road will be closed at Chicago Avenue. Southbound Middaugh will be detoured to Coe Road.
This is being done to facilitate intersection improvements at Middaugh Road and Chicago Avenue.
In June New STOP SIGNS were added on Chicago at Coe/Norfolk.
The new signs are on barricades at this time, but will be permanently installed at the end of the project.
The island on the south side of Chicago at Norfolk is in the process of removal.
Pedestrian traffic is being rerouted down Norfolk to Prospect.
