Village Water Rates

Village Water Rates

Charges for water service fund the purchase of water from the DuPage Water Commission and the maintenance of the Village's water infrastructure. In 2011, the City of Chicago announced that it would increase the amount it charged for water. It had planned a rate increase to take effect over a four year timetable. To lessen the impact on residents, the Village spread this increase over five years.

It is necessary for the Village to pass these water rate increases on to users so that the Village can continue to support current and future water operating and capital expenses, including its 29 miles of water mains. The Village continues to replace old and failing water mains.
