September is known around the United States as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and is intended to help promote awareness surrounding each of the Suicide Prevention resources available to us and our community. The simple goal is to learn how to help those around us and how to talk about suicide without increasing the risk of harm. The Village of Clarendon Hills Board brings awareness to this serious issue by Proclamation.
We can all help prevent suicide. The Clarendon Hills Police Department offers assistance to those dealing with or have loved ones that may be a suicide risk. Another source is The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline which provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals within the United States.
